Floating Energy was a participating prime contractor in the National Consortium Zon op Water. The system was the only solar tracking system in the pilot at the Maasvlakte. During this pilot, started in 2017, the system withstood strorms and extremely high wave heights. This included the storm of January 18, 2018, with measured wind forces of 11 Beaufort and wave heights up to 2 meters!
The innovative system is designed to provide up to 30% more green power than regular, fixed solar installations. This can be used to increase project profitability and accelerate the energy transition.
